Columbus School Bond Issue Voted Down
COLUMBUS- The Columbus Public Schools Bond Issue did not pass after the vote Tuesday.
3,566 residents voted against the bond while 2,683 voted for it. Proponents of the bond issue stressed the need for more space in the coming years citing data obtained by the City stating that Columbus can expect an increase of 500 students over the next 10 years.
The bond issue would have included $53.5 Million to be used for a K-4 elementary school, additions for existing elementary schools and middle schools, renovations to district offices, and additions at Columbus High School.
