Columbus OWA Junior Reds Fall to Waverly Tuesday

In American Legion baseball, the Columbus Owens Wealth Advisors Junior Reds suffered a 10-1 loss in five innings to Waverly Tuesday at Pawnee Park.

The Junior Reds drew first blood at Legion Field by scoring a run in the bottom of the first.  But Waverly responded with a 4-run second inning, adding two more runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth.

Columbus catcher Gavin Young was 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI in the loss, which dropped the Junior Reds to 10-5 on the season.  They’ll host Lincoln Southeast in a doubleheader this evening.

In other games tonight, the Columbus Cornerstone Seniors and OneNebraska Junior Blues visit Grand Island, while the Lakeview Bank of the Valley Seniors are slated to play at Wakefield.
