Columbus’ Live Horse Racing Schedule Expected to Move Up

Live horse racing at Ag Park in Columbus will reportedly move from its traditional start in August to late May.

The Nebraska State Racing Commission is expected to vote for that change when it meets February 18th in Grand Island.  The Columbus Telegram reports the Columbus racing season will run on nine days between May 29 and June 21.

The move is being made to close gaps in the state’s racing calendar and keep more horses racing in the state.
