Columbus Legion Baseball Results From Opening Weekend

The Columbus American Legion baseball teams opened their seasons this weekend.  On Saturday, the Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors were swept at home by North Platte, losing 3-0 and 11-5.  Cornerstone picked up its first win yesterday by romping over visiting Kearney 11-3.  The Seniors visit Norfolk tonight. 

Meanwhile, the Columbus United Federal Credit Union Junior Blues went 0-3.  They dropped both ends of a twinbill at North Platte on Saturday, falling 3-2 and 9-1.  In their home opener on Sunday, the Junior Blues were edged by Kearney 6-5. They’ll visit Hastings on Wednesday. 

Lakeview’s Legion baseball clubs are slated to open their seasons at home tonight against Crofton.
