Columbus Junior Blues Split Twinbill at Norfolk

The One United Federal Credit Union Junior Blues split a doubleheader at Norfolk last night.

The opening game was a heartbreaking loss for Columbus, which fell 9-8 in 10 innings.  It was a big rebound for the Junior Blues in the nightcap, as they won 14-1 in a contest that was limited by time to four innings.  Keiton Watchorn, Spencer Shotkoski and Quenton Gustafson each had three RBI.  Seth Brandl got the win, allowing one run in three innings and Gustafson struck out all three batters he faced.

The Junior Blues are now 3-12.  They’ll compete in a tournament at Sioux Falls, South Dakota beginning tomorrow.

A reminder: the Columbus Seniors home doubleheader against Seward scheduled for tomorrow night has been canceled.
