Columbus High Exits Class A Playoffs After Loss

Columbus High’s football team saw its postseason end Friday night in a 31-7 loss to Lincoln Southeast in the second round of the Class A playoffs.  The Discoverers finished the season with a 6-4 record and earned their first playoff win in a decade. 

In C2, Aquinas advanced to the quarterfinals with a 27-10 victory at Norfolk Catholic.  The Monarchs will host Ord this Friday at 7 p.m. 

Cross County moved on to the D1 quarterfinals with a 54-16 win at Cambridge.  The Cougars will entertain Elm Creek at 7 p.m. Friday.  Nebraska Christian was shaded by Elm Creek 24-22 last Friday, while Howells-Dodge was downed by Burwell 50-14. 

In D2, Osceola advanced to the quarterfinals with a thrilling, 50-46 win at Humphrey St. Francis.  The Bulldogs visit Falls City Sacred Heart for a 6 p.m. tilt on Friday.
