Columbus Football Renews Rivalry at Fremont Friday Night

Columbus High’s football team renews an old rivalry tomorrow night, when the Discoverers visit Fremont.

It will mark the 95th meeting between the two schools.  The first meeting was in 1920, when CHS won 117-0.  The rivalry began in earnest with the first F-and-C Cup game in 1929, which was won by the Tigers.  Tomorrow’s game will be the first meeting between the rivals since 2019, when Columbus won 33-13 at Fremont.  The Discoverers are 43-49-2 all-time against the Tigers, but Columbus has won five of six meetings since 2010.

You can hear Friday’s game on 93.5 The Hawk.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
