Columbus Cornerstone Seniors Fall to North Star in Lincoln

The Columbus Cornerstone Seniors dropped a 5-2 decision on the road against Lincoln North Star last night.

The game, which had been scheduled for Pawnee Park last Tuesday before being postponed by rain, was played at Sherman Field.  Columbus catcher Carter Renteria was 1-for-2 with a triple and 2 RBI, which cut North Star’s lead to 3-2 in the top of the sixth.  But, the home club responded with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to cap the scoring.

Jarrett Bell pitched a complete game for Cornerstone.  He gave up five runs, only two earned, on seven hits and three walks, striking out seven.  The Columbus Seniors slipped to 15-12 on the season.
