Coach Perkins Leaving CCC For LSU-Alexandria

Central Community College athletics announced today that Billy Perkins will step down as women’s basketball head coach for the same position at Louisiana State University-Alexandria.
Perkins has led the CCC women’s basketball team since 2017. In 2020, he guided the Raiders to the first Region 9 title in program history. Several CCC players earned postseason and academic honors during Perkins’ tenure.
Perkins will be at the Columbus school through July 22. CCC says a nationwide search for his replacement is underway.
