City Prep Soccer Teams Open Seasons Today

The boys and girls soccer clubs from Columbus High, Lakeview and Scotus are all set to open their seasons by competing in a tournament today and tomorrow at Wilderness Park. 

The Vikings teams are slated to face the Shamrocks today at 3 p.m., while the Discoverers squads take on Gretna at 5 p.m.  The tourney continues tomorrow, starting at 10 a.m. 

In the Lincoln Journal Star’s preseason ratings, the Scotus girls are number 6 and the Shamrocks boys are ranked seventh in Class B.  Columbus High’s boys did not make the Top 10 in Class A, but are listed among six contenders.
