CHS Wrestling Edged By G.I., Lakeview and Scotus Open Today

Columbus High’s wrestling team was edged by Grand Island in the Discoverers season-opening dual last night.  The Islanders won 34-33 at CHS. Grand Island rallied for the victory by scoring the final 16 points of the dual. 

Second-ranked Columbus had built a 33-18 lead with the help of pins recorded by Rylee Iburg, Blayze Standley, Kasten Grape and Blake Cerny. 

The Discoverers next hit the mats at an invite in Bennington tomorrow.

Meantime, Lakeview opens its season by hosting an invitational today at 2 p.m.  Scotus is among 12 other visiting teams that will be competing at Lakeview.
