CHS Wins GNAC, Lakeview Central Runner-up

Columbus High won its conference volleyball tournament, while Lakeview was the runner-up in its conference tourney on Saturday. 

At the GNAC tournament in McCook, the Discoverers posted 2-0 wins over the host Bison and Gering in pool play. In the championship, Columbus defeated Hastings 25-19, 23-25, 25-12. 

CHS is 14-14. The Discoverers visit Hastings for a rematch tomorrow in their regular season finale.

Lakeview, which had split a pair of Central Conference tournament matches last Thursday, opened Saturday’s action at Grand Island Northwest by downing Holdrege 2-0 and Aurora 2-1 in pool play.  In the championship, Northwest topped Lakeview 25-14, 29-27.

Lakeview is now 20-8. The Vikings travel to Wahoo tomorrow for a triangular with Bishop Neumann and Omaha Concordia.
