CHS Volleyball Falls at Home; Tuesday’s Area Results

After playing the first 18 matches of the season on the road, Columbus High’s volleyball club finally played its home opener last night.  The Discoverers were swept in three sets by Kearney. 

The Bearcats won the Heartland Athletic Conference matchup, 25-17, 26-24, 25-11.  Columbus is now 8-11 and is off until September 23rd, when the Discoverers will entertain Seward.   

Area volleyball results from Tuesday: Schuyler fell to Crete, Boone Central bowed to Crofton, Fullerton downed St. Francis, Howells-Dodge beat Wakefield, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family lost to Oakland-Craig, Shelby-Rising City topped Hampton, Central City was downed by Doniphan-Trumbull, Riverside beat both Palmer and High Plains Community, while the Storm tamed the Tigers, David City lost a pair to Macolm and Milford, and Cross County won twice – over McCool Junction and Heartland Lutheran.
