CHS’ Unified Bowling Team Wins Class A State Title

Columbus High’s unified bowling team won the Class A state championship yesterday in Lincoln. 

The Discoverers, who were district champions, were seeded third in the state tourney.  CHS topped Lincoln Northeast 3-2 in the quarterfinals, then reached the finals with a 3-0 win over Bellevue West.  In the championship, Columbus beat Norfolk 3-2, giving the fourth-year Discoverers program its first state title. 

In the Class B tournament, third-seeded North Bend Central beat Hastings 3-1 in the first round.  But, the Tigers fell 3-2 in the semifinals to eventual champion Lexington.
