CHS Softball Battles Back in A-5 District Tournament

Columbus High’s softball team suffered a close loss in its first postseason game, but fought back with two wins yesterday to stay alive in the A-5 district tournament.
The Discoverers were edged by Fremont 8-7 in the opener. CHS rebounded to post two run-rule romps: 15-1 over Benson and 11-3 over Burke.
The Discoverers are 13-22 and will play in the semifinals at 1 p.m. today in Lincoln. Columbus will take on the winner of today’s 11 a.m. game between top-seeded LIncoln East and No. 2 seed Fremont. Those two teams both went 1-0 yesterday.
