CHS Hires Alum Schaefer as Girls Hoops Head Coach

Columbus High has turned to a Columbus native and a CHS alum to lead its girls basketball team. Scott Schaefer was hired this week.
Since 2014, Schaefer has been a head coach in Independence, Missouri, leading William Chrisman High to 136 wins over the past seven seasons.
In nine seasons at Gardner, Kansas his teams had 118 victories and went to the state tournament once. Schaefer led McPherson High to a 272-43 record in 13 seasons, making 12 state tourney appearances and winning four championships.
