CHS Girls Soccer Blanks Norfolk, Boys Edged by G.I.

Columbus High girls soccer coach Zack Wayman credited goalkeeper Jordyn Trotta with playing “a perfect game” as the Discoverers posted a 3-0 win at Maroon Cup rival Norfolk Tuesday.

After dropping a 1-0 decision to Lincoln Southwest in its season opener, CHS has recorded back-to-back shutouts over Lincoln Northeast and the Panthers.  Columbus will take its 2-1 record into a match against Lincoln Pius X on the CHS turf field Thursday night.

The Discoverers boys were edged at home last night by Grand Island 1-0 in double overtime.  Columbus is 2-1 and will visit Lincoln High Thursday evening.
