CHS Boys Win, Girls Fall in Second Day of HAC Tournament

The Columbus High boys basketball team won, while the Discoverers girls lost in the HAC basketball tournament yesterday.
Hosting a consolation game, the Columbus boys beat rival Norfolk 69-59. Quinn Freshour scored a game-high 16 points, Tanner Esch had 13 points and Jose Garcia came off the Discoverers bench to tally 12 points, all in the second half. The win snapped a three-game losing skid and upped Columbus’ record to 3-5.
The Columbus girls were downed at top-seeded Lincoln Pius X 61-25. Jordyn Trotta led CHS with 13 points. The Discoverers slipped to 4-4. They’ll take on Lincoln Southeast this morning at Lincoln North Star.
