The Columbus High boys’ soccer team fell just short of pulling off a second upset in districts that would have sent the Discoverers to the state tournament.
Fourth-seeded Columbus was edged 3-2 at number-2 seed Grand Island last night. That ended a seven-match winning streak for CHS, which had culminated with a 1-0 overtime win in the district semifinals at top-seeded Creighton Prep last Saturday.
The Discoverers finished the season at 8-8.
