Chinander Wants More Sacks, TO’s; Edge Rusher Williams Decommits

Nebraska’s football team opens its second week of fall camp today.  As week one wrapped up last Friday, defensive coordinator Erik Chinander said this season the Huskers defense needs to get a few more sacks and turnovers.

“If we can get another sack a game, another turnover a game…and I thought we did a good job of intercepting the ball last year (but) we didn’t get enough punch-outs and enough fumble recoveries so we’re really concentrating on that as we start fall camp here,” Chinander said.

Nebraska’s defense lost a four-star recruit for next season yesterday, when edge rusher Ashley Williams decommitted from NU.  Williams, who had just pledged to the Huskers on July 10, cited “recent events” and a “lapse in communication” in a tweet announcing he was decommitting.
