Nebraska defensive coordinator Erik Chinander met with members of the media following day nine of fall camp yesterday.
Asked what he’s still trying to learn about the Huskers’ defense over the next couple weeks, he said the main thing is “who are the next guys up” after the starters? “There are still a lot of guys battling for reps,” Chinander said. “There are probably a lot of guys who deserve reps in games.”
Chinander also called the Huskers’ defensive line a “pretty deep group,” adding he doesn’t see “a huge drop-off between the ones and the twos.” Nebraska kicks off its season on August 28th at Illinois.
