Central City Has 12 LOB in Loss, Battles State Tourney Host Today

Central City had trouble coming up with clutch hits Sunday at the American Legion Class B Senior state tournament in Holdrege.

Their batters were just 2-of-13 with runners in scoring position, stranding 12 runners on base.  The result was a 3-1 loss to Norris-Hickman.  Central City is now 1-1 in the state tourney and 18-7 overall.

They’ll face tournament host Holdrege in an elimination game today at Noon.  You can hear the action on KZ-100.

The two teams met twice in the B6 area tournament in Broken Bow.  Both teams were 2-0 in the tourney when Central City outscored Holdrege 11-9 last Monday night.  The next evening they squared off in the championship game, with Central City winning 6-5.
