CCC’s fall sports teams will have their seasons moved to next spring due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The NJCAA Board of Regents voted yesterday to make the move for all of its schools nationwide.  The fall sports that were scheduled to begin next month at the NJCAA Division II school in Columbus were volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer.

Other area junior colleges including Iowa Western will have their football seasons moved to next spring.

The junior college association has also decided that its winter sports – men’s and women’s basketball at Central – will start in January instead of November.  The NJCAA says spring sports for its schools, which include softball and men’s golf at CCC, remain intact with minor adjustments to dates.

The JUCO association’s membership includes more than 500 schools in the U.S., with CCC being among five in Nebraska.
