CCC Volleyball Wins District Title, Heading to National Tourney

CCC volleyball advanced to the national tournament after winning a district title this weekend. 

The Raiders beat Bismarck State College 2-matches-to-none in the best-of-three North Plains district championship.  Central won the opening match at the Raider Fieldhouse Friday night, 3-1, taking it 25-13, 25-22, 13-25, 25-23. 

On Saturday, it took the Raiders five sets to prevail, winning 25-21, 25-16, 21-25, 18-25, 15-12. For the tourney, Lauryn Scott led CCC with 28 kills and seven blocks, while Josie Bentz added 23 kills and 3 blocks.  The Raiders were also sparked by Libbie Ball’s 91 assists, Marin Reilly’s six aces and Maleigha Johnson’s 62 digs.  

Central is 20-15 and moves on to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Nov. 20-24.
