Most Boys State Golf Tourneys Delayed by Rain

Today’s stormy weather could make for a tough day on Nebraska golf courses as the prep boys state tournaments are scheduled to open.

As of this morning, the Class A and D tournaments had their starts delayed by one hour, while the Class C tourney in Columbus is now set for a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

Columbus High’s Keaton Barnes and Owen Lawrence are playing in the Class A tournament at Norfolk Country Club.  The Lakeview boys qualified as a team for the Class B tourney in Scottsbluff after finishing third in last week’s district action.

Elks Country Club hosts the first of two days of Class C state golf.  Scotus, David City and St. Paul made it to the local event as teams, while two Central City golfers, Ayden Zikmund and Brock Olivo qualified as individuals.  After winning a district championship last week, Humphrey St. Francis qualified as a team for the Class D tourney in North Platte.
