Boys State Golf Highlights in Class C & D Tourneys
Jaylin Jakub of Aquinas Catholic was tied for second place after Tuesday’s first round of the Class C boys state golf tourney at Elks Country Club.
Jakub was among three golfers who shot a 77, three strokes behind the leader Jackson Dunham of Kearney Catholic. Samuel Wells of St. Paul was tied for 23rd after an 84. Jacob Wright of North Bend Central and Central City’s Ayden Zikmund both carded 89 and were in a four-way tie for 44th. In the team standings, North Bend was 12th while St. Paul was in 14th.
Humphrey St. Francis was fifth after the first day of the Class D tournament at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte. Jaden Kosch led the Flyers with an 82 and was tied for 14th. Kellen Fiala of Howells-Dodge shot an 83 and was tied for 20th.
