Both Columbus Legion Baseball Teams Go 3-2 in Sioux Falls

After winning their first three games in a tournament at Sioux Falls, the Columbus Cornerstone Seniors suffered two close losses on Sunday. 

Cornerstone tried to rally from a 10-2 deficit after two innings in the first game, but fell 11-9.  In the second game yesterday, Columbus led its opponent 3-0 after one inning but wound up getting edged 5-4. 

The Seniors opened the tourney Friday with a 2-1 win over Omaha North.  Cornerstone posted two victories Saturday by scores of 7-5 and 8-2.  But, Sunday’s defeats evened their season record at 9-9. 

The Columbus OneNebraska Junior Blues also went 3-2 at Sioux Falls. 

They opened Friday with two wins by scores of 8-3 and 7-3.  The Junior Blues were shaded 3-2 on Saturday, then took Sunday’s first game 9-1, before getting out-slugged 12-11.  The Junior Blues are now 8-6.
