Booth Delivers Game-Winner as Vikings Walk Off

The Lakeview softball team put together its third five-run inning in its final at-bat last night for a 17-16 comeback win over Aquinas.  Callie Booth capped the seventh inning rally by delivering a walk-off hit.

The visiting Monarchs scored five runs of their own in the top of the second to take a 7-0 lead.  Lakeview posted its first five-spot in the bottom of the second and scored five more runs in the fourth to close the gap to 13-11.  Aquinas scored three runs in the sixth to take a 16-12 lead.  The Vikings couldn’t answer in the sixth, but came up with the game-winning rally in the seventh. 

Lakeview improved to 4-4, while Aquinas dropped to 3-6. 

The Vikings are set to host Schuyler tomorrow.
