Bluejays Handle ‘Nova in Big East Tournament

Creighton never trailed last night as the Bluejays beat Villanova 87-74 at the Big East Tournament in a rematch of last season’s championship game. 

Ryan Kalkbrenner scored 21 points and Ryan Nembhard added 17 as the third-seeded Jays advanced to tonight’s semifinals.  24th-ranked CU is 21-11 and will battle second-seeded and 15th-ranked Xavier tonight.  The Musketeers are 24-8. 

Tonight’s tipoff is at 8 p.m. on FS1.  At stake is a spot in Saturday’s 5:30 p.m. championship game, which will air on FOX.
