Bluejays Bow at Villanova as Wildcats Clinch Big East

Number 10 Villanova clinched its seventh Big East title in the last eight seasons by beating 14th-ranked Creighton 72-60. 

The Bluejays trailed by as many as 22 points early in the second half and could come no closer than five points. 

The loss means CU will be the number 2 seed in next week’s Big East tournament.  The Jays are now 17-7, 13-6 in conference play. 

Creighton will close the regular season on Saturday with a 4 p.m. home game against Butler.  It will be televised on FOX.
