Bison, Slammers in Action Today at State Softball Tourney

Two area softball teams begin play today in the Class C state tournament at Hastings. 

Central City is the No. 4 seed and brings a 24-3 record into the tourney.  The Bison face fifth-seeded Malcolm, which is 25-9. 

Polk County is the No. 7 seed and is 25-10.  The Slammers meet second-seeded Yutan/Mead, which is 29-1. 

All four opening round Class C games today have an 11:30 a.m. first pitch.
