Bison Go 1-1, Slammers 0-1 in First Day of State Softball

Central City went 1-1, while Polk County dropped its opening game at the Class C state softball tournament yesterday in Hastings.
The Bison beat Malcolm 11-3 in five innings, before falling to top-seeded St. Cecilia 8-5. The Slammers were blanked by No. 2 seed Yutan/Mead 8-0 in six innings.
The tourney continues through tomorrow.
