As CWS Nears, CU Holds Camp Honoring Gradoville

Creighton University is gearing up to host the College World Series.  It opens tomorrow for its 73rd season in Omaha and its 12th year at the renamed Charles Schwab Field.

On Wednesday, Creighton baseball held its first annual “Grad-itude” camp.  It honored the late Bluejays catcher and director of baseball operations Chris Gradoville.  The 37-year old was shot and killed last September.

Former Creighton and major league pitcher Pat Venditte had the idea for the camp and was one of several instructors who helped more than 200 young players at the CU Sports Complex.  Proceeds from the camp go to the Chris Gradoville Baseball Leadership Scholarship.
