Area Teams’ Highlights in Wednesday’s District Track Meets
Two district track meets involving several area teams were held Wednesday.
In the D-2 meet at Osceola, the host Bulldogs won the girls meet while High Plains Community topped the boys team standings, finishing 13 points ahead of Howells-Dodge. The Jaguars Andre Martin won three individual gold medals, finishing first in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles and the boys high jump. The Storm’s Gavin Morris won gold in the 100 and 400 meters. Osceola’s girls won gold medals in three individual events and two relay teams took first.
In the D-5 district at Fullerton, the Nebraska Christian boys edged Riverside 141-134, while the Eagles girls also finished first. In the boys’ meet, Riverside’s Jack Molt won three gold medals in the 100 and 200 meters and long jump. His Chargers teammate Drew Carraher was first in the 110 meter hurdles and pole vault. Nebraska Christian’s Jacob Swanson won the 1600 and 3200 meters and the Eagles Micah Perdew earned gold in the high jump and triple jump. In girls events, Hannah Swanson of Nebraska Christian was first in the 1600 and 3200 meters and the Eagles Sheridan Falk won the 100 meter hurdles and the long jump.
