Area Prep Coaches to be Honored at NCA Banquet

Two area prep coaches and one who began her career at an area school will be honored by the Nebraska Coaches Association. It’s 53rd annual Awards Banquet is set for this Sunday in Lincoln.
Ron Mimick of Aquinas Catholic and Darin Garfield of Central City are two of the NCA’s 13 Coaches of the Year. Mimick earned the honor for boys’ track and field and Garfield was tabbed for wrestling. Both coaches guided their teams to state titles this past school year.
Also, Mimi Ramsbottom, who began coaching at Osceola in 1982 before moving to Elkhorn in 1994 will receive one of eight NCA Career Awards.
