Andy Hoffman, Jack’s Dad, Now Battling Brain Cancer

Andy Hoffman, whose son Jack’s battle with brain cancer inspired Husker Nation and people around the country, is now facing the same battle. 

Andy Hoffman announced on Twitter that he has been diagnosed with a “massive brain tumor.”  His tweet said he had a seizure while running on Sunday.  He’s currently at the Mayo Clinic. 

The Huskers’ Twitter account posted a message of encouragement saying “Husker Nation is behind you 100% of the way Andy.” 

Less than a decade ago, 7-year old Jack Hoffman ran for a touchdown in Nebraska’s spring football game.  It earned an ESPY Award and kicked off the Team Jack Foundation, which has raised more than $7.5 million in the fight against pediatric cancer.
