Huskers’ Anderson a Semifinalist for Golden Spikes Award
Nebraska infielder Max Anderson has been named a semifinalist for USA Baseball’s Golden Spikes Award.
Anderson was one of 25 players named to the list yesterday for the award given to the top amateur baseball player in the nation.
Anderson is having a breakout junior campaign, hitting .412 with 21 home runs and 69 RBI. He’s one of two players in the country hitting at least .400 with 21-plus homers and 65-plus RBI this season.
Anderson is also among 60 semifinalists for the Dick Howser Trophy.
