American Legion Baseball Cancels Postseason Tourneys
There will be no Nebraska American Legion baseball area and state postseason tournaments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the door is still open for some regular season games to be played this season.
A statement on the Legion website says the postseason is canceled, but nothing else. The statement says: “American Legion Baseball’s highest priority is the health, well-being and safety of all our participants, families, volunteers and fans.”
The statement adds that Legion teams will need 14 days of practice prior to their first official game. As of right now, the state is not allowing sports events to take place until May 31st.
The Legion says it intends to hold as much of a season in Nebraska “that the situation allows.”
