Nebraska sophomore Allison Weidner is out for the rest of the basketball season due to a knee injury.
Coach Amy Williams announced the news on News Talk 900 KJSK just before the Huskers home game against Michigan last night. Weidner had started each of NU’s first 13 games. The guard from Humphrey averaged 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. She suffered the injury last Wednesday against Kansas.
In last night’s contest, Nebraska fell to the 14th-ranked Wolverines 76-59. The loss snapped the Huskers’ five-game winning streak as they slipped to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten.
Nebraska visits No. 4 Indiana on Sunday at noon. The game will be televised on ESPN.
