All Three City Teams Earn State Track Medals Wednesday

All three city teams earned medals during the opening day of the state track and field meet yesterday in Omaha.

In Class B boys, Lakeview’s Landon Ternus earned a fourth place medal in the shot put and also qualified for today’s finals in the 200.  The Vikings’ Adam Van Cleave won his heat of the 200 and also qualified for the 100-meter finals.

In Class A, Caleb Mulder of Columbus High qualified for the finals in the boys 400.  On the girls side, the Discoverers’ Joselyn Olson finished fifth in the long jump and Josie Garrett qualified for the the 100-meter hurdles.

In Class B girls action, Chloe Walker of Scotus finished seventh in the discus.  Shamrocks teammate Grace Mustard qualified for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles, while Lakeview’s Blake Barcel will run in the 400 finals.
