All Six City Prep Basketball Teams Fall on Saturday

It was a tough day Saturday for the city’s prep basketball teams as all six suffered losses.
The Columbus boys were downed 66-47 at Bellevue East, while the Discoverers girls fell to the Chieftains 54-25.
In the Central Conference tournament, Lakeview’s boys bowed to Adams Central 51-30. The Lady Vikes lost to Seward 48-30 in the third place contest.
Both Scotus teams played in the Centennial Conference championship games for the first time in the same season since 1987. The Shamrocks boys were defeated by Lincoln Lutheran 65-55, while the Scotus girls dropped a 34-25 decision to Lincoln Christian.
