All-American Kayla Caffey won’t play volleyball for Nebraska next season. Caffey has entered the transfer portal.
Caffey was granted an NCAA waiver in the spring for a seventh season of college eligibility. In a news release last night, coach John Cook noted that Caffey’s situation was unique because of her medical redshirt, her transfer and “the COVID year.”
Cook said: “Obviously, we took our time with this to make sure it was the right decision for everybody.” The Huskers coach said he supports Caffey and “wish her all the best.” Caffey joined NU in 2020 from Missouri.
