In women’s basketball, Alexis Markowski will follow in her father’s footsteps and play for Nebraska.

The 6-foot-3 center from Lincoln Pius X, who previously committed to South Dakota State, announced on Twitter Sunday that she was “staying home.”

Markowski led the Thunderbolts to a Class A state title last season.  She averaged 21.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per game in her junior season.

Her father, Andy, played for Nebraska in the 1990s.
