The Alex Gordon era came to an end yesterday in Kansas City.  After a 90-minute rain delay prior to the start of the game, Gordo wrapped up his 14-year career with the Royals as KC ended its season with a 3-1 win over Detroit.

The former Nebraska star, who made three All-Star appearances and won seven Gold Gloves over the previous nine seasons in left field, only played briefly on Sunday.

The Lincoln native led off the bottom of the first inning by striking out and had one putout in left field before being replaced in the top of the second.  Gordon ran off the field to applause from his family at Kauffman Stadium and his teammates standing at the top of the home dugout.
