Albion Sloppy, Kelly Stars For PWG in Legion Class C State Tourney
In the Legion baseball Class C state tournament Sunday in Wakefield, Albion was downed by Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley 10-1 in five innings.
PWG starter Grant Kelly tossed a complete game, allowing just one unearned run on three hits, with no walks and five strikeouts. Albion committed three errors, with all of them coming in the third inning to help PWG score six runs. Kelly had a two-run double in the inning and he added an RBI single as PWG scored three runs in the top of the fifth.
Albion slipped to 1-1 in the tournament and 23-7 on the season. They’ll take on Tecumseh today at 1 p.m. in an elimination game. PWG is 2-0 in the tourney and 21-7 overall and will meet 2-0 Malcolm tonight at 7 p.m.
