8-Man Football Playoff Scores, Second Round Matchups
Scores from last night’s opening round of the 8-man football playoffs: in Class D1, Weeping Water stunned Cross County 42-22, Clarkson/Leigh got by Wisner-Pilger 28-23, Shelby-Rising City fell at Thayer Central 44-0, Nebraska Christian edged Alma 38-36 and Riverside routed Maxwell 55-12.
In D2 action, Osceola outscored Fullerton 88-38, Humphrey St. Francis thumped Falls City Sacred Heart 64-12, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family was blown out at Bloomfield 88-0, Howells-Dodge crushed Creighton 64-12 and Central Valley dumped St. Mary’s 52-6.
In next Friday’s second round in D1, Clarkson/Leigh hosts Crofton, Nebraska Christian visits Thayer Central and Riverside entertains Summerland. In D2 next Friday, Howells-Dodge hosts South Loup, Humphrey St. Francis visits Hitchcock County, Osceola is at Bloomfield and Central Valley visits Sandhills/Thedford.
