8-Man Football All-Star Game Canceled

The 43rd annual Sertoma 8-Man Football All-Star Game that was slated for July 16th in Hastings with play-by-play to be broadcast on 93.5 The Hawk has been canceled.

The Nebraska 8-Man Coaches Association says it regrettably decided to cancel the contest due to numerous health and logistical concerns caused by COVID-19.

The group said their primary concern “is the health and well-being of our athletes, coaches, families and spectators.  With the most current information available, we do not feel we can ensure that we meet these goals.”

The coaches association also said with CCC-Hastings not yet opening its campus, there were no lodging, food services or practice venues to facilitate playing the game.

As of now, the 62nd Annual Shrine Bowl is still set for Saturday, July 11th at 2 p.m. in Kearney.  If that game is played, you can hear the action on KZ-100.
