Former Creighton pitcher Ty Blach made his Baltimore Orioles debut last night and it couldn’t have come against a tougher foe. Blach was the losing pitcher in the second game of a doubleheader at Yankee Stadium, stretching the O’s losing streak against New York to 14 games.
Blach pitched four innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs, six of them earned. He walked three, struck out four and gave up a home run in the 11-8 loss, that followed an 8-5 defeat in the opener. The Yanks hit seven homers on the night and have now hit a record 59 against the Orioles this season.
Blach was recently claimed by Baltimore off waivers from San Francisco.
