A 37-year-old Polish man was arrested and charged with aggravated stalking of Katy Perry. Pawel Jurski reportedly targeted the singer while she was in town for a concert in Miami.
Jurski was charged with four counts of aggravated stalking, escape, loitering and prowling, and resisting an officer without violence.
During a court appearance, Miami Dade County Judge Mindy S. Glazer noted the suspect reportedly “rushed” into a restricted area at the local venue, and he is also accused of hiding in a stairwell at the hotel where Katy was staying.
Judge Glazer said of the suspect, “He says he’s gonna do whatever it takes to be with Katy Perry; he follows this woman all around the country.”
An attorney for Jurski noted that fans of many acts, including the Grateful Dead, follow bands from venue to venue.
Judge Glazer responded, “This is not the Grateful Dead,” adding, “This is a woman who is performing.” She then set his bond at $34,000.
