A new photo exhibit celebrating the release of photographer Frank Stefanko‘s new limited-edition book Bruce Springsteen: Further Up the Road opens to the public on Friday at Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York City. A private reception commemorating the opening will be held tomorrow, November 9, running from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET.
The exhibit, titled “Bruce Springsteen — Further Up the Road: A Forty Year Photographic Retrospect,” will feature 35 images of the Boss taken by Stefanko that all appear in Frank’s book. Many of the photos in Further Up the Road have never been seen before.
Two versions of Further Up the Road will be available for purchase, including a deluxe edition priced at $630 that features a signed and numbered photograph and is packaged in a clamshell box. A number of copies of the deluxe version of the book will be sold at Morrison Hotel Gallery, as will signed prints of some of the photos featured in the 400-page tome.
Stefanko has been photographing Springsteen since 1978, and is responsible for many memorable pics of the rock legend, including the photos on the covers of The River and Darkness on the Edge of Town and the one featured on Bruce’s 2016 memoir Born to Run. Further Up the Road includes an introduction penned by the Boss.
The New York photo exhibit will remain on display through December 3. A separate exhibition celebrating the publication of Further Up the Road opened on November 2 at the Morrison Hotel Gallery in West Hollywood, California, located in the Sunset Marquis Hotel, and will run through this Sunday, November 12.
